How to make rusty nails:
One part white vinegar to one part hydrogen peroxide. Dash of salt. Soak for 5-15 minutes. Let dry for a few days. Voila.
(Admittedly some of the nails were already a bit rusty, just not enough for my liking.)
Playing around with lightboxes. I think we’re onto something.
Wash fast acid dye, thiox immersion discharge, bleach immersion discharge, rust dyeing, thickened thiox discharge. So far, anyways. (Taken with instagram)
I’ve also been playing around with rust dyeing. This is raw silk, which has a thicker texture more like a canvas! I tried painting with bleach on this, as well, and the longer I let it sit the more the bleach has eaten through the fabric.
