Some progress images from the last piece I did.
It’s currently installed at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts, and will be up until January 12!
Process shots of a really large piece I’m working on. Started off by discharging the color out of donated t-shirts. Then turned them into a bunch of little pillows. I have over 150 now! Now I’m crocheting over them with wool yarn, then dyeing and felting them.
I still have a ton of work to do but I’m making good progress!
Gotta admit that at least a tiny part of what draws me to fibers is getting to feel like somewhat of a mad scientist.
Maybe no one else will find this as cool as me but that’s okay too.
Also sorry for the noise, had to have the vent on!
More deconstructed screen printing.
I did some deconstructed screen printing today.
I also started on tight orders! Thanks so much everyone <3
Some of the dye work I did while I was at Arrowmont this past week. :)
Some photos from the dye and quilting class I helped teach at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts this past week!
After spending two months testing out various piano scarf patterns I’ve found, I’ve decided to just make up my own.
And then instead of doing homework I pieced together my square of a group-effort baby quilt.
Working on this.
Of course now that I’ve stretched the fabrics I just want to dye them again.
I was getting too precious with my materials and needed to just finally slap them together and make something. Or, you know, throw them onto the lit stove top and see what happens.
Today I made a net.
