I have been wanting to do a comic with paper cutouts forever. This was an experimental page to see if it was at all reasonable or rational. (Answer: Not really, but I’m going to keep messing around with it anyways.)
Measures 20 inches by 13 inches, had to piece together 7 different scans!

You can view a frontal of this here.
Here is one of two pop-up pieces I made. The ferris wheel rotates!
I’d never made any sort of pop-up or interactive piece before these two (at least to this extent) so I kept it fairly simple. But I’m happy with them.

Remind me to never weave a 1 inch by 1 inch basket again.
Also remind me to use more doilies.

The scarf is paper I made from loose tea. Once I cut into it I was hit by a wave of peppermint! It was a nice surprise :)

Finished! This is a mixed media paper cutout of my character Kitty, original is 11x12.5 inches. You can see a detail shot here.
Edit: Holy wow guys thanks for all the likes and reblogs, I’m flattered.
NOT FINISHED but I’m done for the night.
